DTF Printing: Direct-to-Film

Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing involves printing designs onto a special film, which is then transferred to fabric using adhesive powder and heat.

This method creates prints with bold, vibrant colors that pop on both light and dark fabrics. The design sits on top of the fabric, giving it a slightly textured feel.

Unlike DTG, DTF works on a wider range of materials, including polyester, cotton, blends, and even non-fabric surfaces like leather.

DTF prints are durable, resistant to washing and cracking, and retain their brightness over time.

DTG Printing: Direct-to-Garment

Direct-to-Garment (DTG) printing uses advanced inkjet technology to print directly onto fabric. This method is ideal for designs with fine details, gradients, and photographic-quality images.

DTG inks bond with the fibers of the fabric, giving a soft, almost “barely there” feel to the design. The result is breathable prints that feel like part of the garment.

DTG works best on 100% cotton or high-cotton blends, and the colors are vibrant, especially on lighter-colored garments. However, on darker fabrics, a white underbase is used, which can slightly alter the feel.

Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)

Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) uses pre-colored vinyl sheets that are cut into designs and applied to garments using heat and pressure. Each color is a separate layer, making HTV perfect for bold, simple graphics rather than intricate details or gradients.

HTV creates a smooth, slightly raised texture that feels durable and long-lasting. It works on a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends.
